Dr. Nancy Shane Hocking has held several leadership positions in the aviation industry, including Director of Pilot Sourcing and Industry Outreach at Endeavor Air, and Vice President of Training and Employee Development at Cape Air. Dr. Hocking has also worked extensively in education where she has taught students at both the secondary and post-secondary level, the latter of which was in the aviation department at Farmingdale State College in New York. Dr. Hocking’s current role is Director of Gateway College and Programs at JetBlue where she oversees all of the pathway programs that guide aspiring aviators and technicians toward roles at the airline.
Dr. Hocking holds a Ph.D in aerospace sciences from the University of North Dakota, a master’s degree in education from Harvard University and a master’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She is also a multi-engine instrument-rated pilot and holds an aircraft dispatcher certificate.
