Lori Cline

As Managing Director of Flight Training and Standards, Captain Lori Cline has responsibility for all elements of pilot training at American including planning, scheduling, pilot qualifications, pilot records, training content production and training technology development. Located at training centers in DFW and CLT, there are 1,000 Check Pilots, Instructors, Simulator Engineers, and support departments that make up the Training & Standards team.
 
First hired by Piedmont Airlines in March of 1984, she has served in leadership roles throughout her career, first as a Check Airman on the B737, then in Safety as the Director of Flight Safety & Quality Assurance with US Airways before joining the Airbus Training Department. There she was a Check Airman, APD, and Standards Coordinator, Curriculum Developer and Human Factors facilitator in the A319/320/321 program where she worked for eighteen years before joining the Flight Department as a Chief Pilot in CLT. She became the Managing Director of Pilot Recruitment and Crew Accommodations before transferring to the Managing Director Flight Training & Standards role where she serves today. Besides acting as the Company designee for the NTSB’s investigation of US Airway’s flight 1549 'Miracle on the Hudson', she has co-authored two books on women’s aviation history and trained and completed the Tobacco Road Marathon in 2011.
