Cate Bichara works in the International Affairs Department of skyguide, the Swiss Air Navigation service Provider where she is in charge of a European-wide R&D project, as well as the competence and licensing aspects of an internal strategic programme. Ms Bichara is the chair of the industry advisory body to the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency). She is the social dialogue manager for FABEC (Functional Airspace Block Europe Central) and chairs the FABEC Human Resource and Training standing committee. Ms Bichara is active in European-wide social dialogue, managing and mitigating the social impacts and risks of air traffic management developments and new technologies. Furthermore, Ms Bichara is also active in the skyguide diversity team.
Cate Bichara holds a Masters degree in social and educational sciences, with a postgrad in mathematics for social sciences from the university of Lausanne, Switzerland (UNIL). She also holds an Air Traffic Controller licence as well as a private pilot licence. She recently completed a Certificate of Advanced Studies at HEC (Faculty of Business and Economics - UNIL), Lausanne (Switzerland) in Transformational Management and Leadership.
Ms Bichara has particular interests in technological transformations and more specifically how this impacts the human and society, as well as new learning and competence techniques and how these areas can be best integrated into the industry in an environmentally, economically and socially sustainable manner. She is also passionate about bringing diversity to the industry.
