September 2010 Message

Change. That seems to be a constant in our lives. We all experience it in our personal and professional lives. Our changes range from joyous changes such as welcoming a new child into the world, celebrating personal and family accomplishments and promotions, and entering new ventures that bring opportunity, to sad changes such as losing loved ones, suffering personal and professional set-backs, and confronting unexpected challenges that present significant hurdles to overcome.

These changes are universal to us all, and make IAWA such a unique organization. When changes have occurred in my life, an IAWA member has always been there for me. I know that I can reach out to an IAWA member for help, support or to celebrate a positive change. My ability to reach out stems from the relationships I have formed and continue to nurture through IAWA. The most recent opportunity for fostering IAWA relationships occurred at our Chicago Regional Reception. There, a diverse group of over 50 accomplished and engaging women gathered to exchange ideas, catch-up with friends, discuss common interests, colleagues and issues, and to form friendships and relationships.

Like our Atlanta reception in May of this year, attendees in Chicago exchanged contact information, relationships continue to grow, and IAWA members continue to help each other through the changes that lie ahead of us.

A wonderful opportunity to meet IAWA members is at your doorstep: The IAWA Annual Conference October 6-8, 2010 at the TAJ Hotel in Boston. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by. If there was ever a venue to form relationships, get a candid inside view of the aviation industry, and be updated on the most pressing and critical issues that face our industry, that venue is Boston. Register today to save your spot! Go to www.iawa.org for Conference registration information. Looking forward to seeing you in Boston.
