IAWA's signature event is an annual conference in the Fall of each year. The conference, held in major cities around the world, features timely and important topics presented by prominent women in the field and offers opportunities for global networking.
Recent venues include Brussels, Chicago, Buenos Aires, New York, Shanghai, San Francisco, Lisbon, Phoenix, London, Miami, Montreal, Ireland, Seattle and Paris.
Board of Directors Meetings
Board meetings are held quarterly. Three meetings are held telephonically (January, April, September, December), with the mid year meeting being held in person at the Annual Reception site (around June). The Board holds its Annual Meeting during the Annual Conference. In addition, the Board may call special meetings as necessary.
Regional receptions are being held in various locations throughout the year as an additional opportunity for members and prospective members to network and meet outside the Annual Conference. Regional Receptions can be initiated by any member or Board Member and require sponsorship for a venue and cocktails. Regional receptions have been held over the past year in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Dubai, Dublin, New York, and London, and additional receptions are being planned for Panama and Phoenix. Introduced in 2010: IAWA CONNECT
IAWA's Connect offer more informal gatherings along other conferences such as ABA, AirFinance Journal, ALTA and many more. Any member or Board attending a conference anywhere in the world could suggest the Connect to either the President or Membership VP or Executive Secretary. Connect can be held around coffee, breakfast or an evening drink. Many Connects were held in 2011 in Montreal, Leiden and Las Vegas.
